Asanyeh Interview for Vykhod Sily Podcast

Hello there! Please introduce yourself. Who are you and where are you from?

My production name is Asanyeh, im from Birmingham  England.

How long have you been producing?

I have been producing music seriously now for 7 years

Where did it all begin for you? What was the main influence on you in terms of drum’n’bass music? What were the very first tunes that stroke you most?

It all began back in 1998, after going to my 1st D&B rave, the jungle music and the jump up tunes of that era, 1st tune that stood out was Bambaata by Shy FX, this was my 1st vinyl purchase ever!

Are you working in any other styles, if yes, please specify?

Yes I like to produce down tempo  bass and dub reggae.

Do you have already any vinyl releases?  Or are they just planned?

I have tracks out there, but none are on vinyl yet.

What is the most significant release of yourself? And why?

Attik / Myths single on Rawganics. Some of my better works.

What are you working at right now?

Currently working on the Rawganics label as well as making tracks.

How do you like the idea of a collab working? Have you ever worked on tunes with any other producers?

I am open to working with various artists as I have done so in the past, it’s nice to hear another persons input on your works or to add my own style onto a collab track.

Are you using only digital or analog hardware as well? What musical software are you using at the moment?

I use both digital and analogue, at the moment im using Logic 9, roland gaia Sh-01, Dave smiths Mopho, MicroKorg, Roland TD4 drum kit and various soft synths like native intruments FM8, Rob papen stuff Waves Audio plug-in to name a few.

Please, describe you sound? What’s special about it to capture listener’s attention?

My sound is deep dark dubby , i think the textures, soundscapes and sonics capture peoples attention.

What attracts you personally in the sound you’re working at?

It deep ambientness, i love making pads and soundscapes that are wired but yet wonderful.

Will you name 3 drum’n’bass producers who stand out for you at the moment?

Curious, Dyl, Concealed Identity.

How long did it you to realize that you were ready to step out with your very first release?

Around 2011 towards the end of my degree.

Your dream or wish – what’s the label you want to see your release on?

To get Rawganics the label I co – own more exposure.

Have you heard anything about the podcast «Vykhod Sily»?
How do you see the future of the half step sound in the drum’n’bass scene?

Yes I have heard of the special request podcast. The half step scene is growing nicely with more and more great music coming through.

What are positive and negative things have you observed in drum’n’bass music over the last couple of years?

The negative within the drum and bass scene I feel, is how the jump up scene has ended up the way it has, I see this is a not a good thing. The half step autonomic sound has really taken off into its own thing, allowing producers to be more creative in there music.
What will drum’n’bass be like in the nearest future, any ideas?

Well as long as producer keep on making good music it will be more popular then ever.

What’s the most important thing for the beginning producer? Will you share an advice?

Go and study music production if you can.

And the final words here?

Thanks to everyone who has supported me , my music and the Rawganics label. Big ups.
Thanks for the answers.
Keep it going and good luck with the new releases!
